Small Hilltop Town Tour

Massi delivers you to quintessential Tuscan towns where you can wander and enjoy. Lunch stop included! This tour starts at 9:15 am and ends around 6pm.

Details

The walled medieval town of San Gimignano is noted for its unique skyline of towers. At its height of prominence and wealth there were 72 towers. Today there stands 14. 

The historic centre of San Gimignano is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will have approx.1 hour to explore and even try the world best gelato if you’d like. 

From San Gimignano you will continue south to Siena, just outside the city walls we know of a family salumeria where the owner and his son produce cured meats, salumi as well as other small dishes of vegetables, and cheeses etc. Lunch will be served family style so everyone can try a little of everything, it is a nice way to sample many of the traditional Tuscan foods. 

After lunch Massi will drive you into the heart of Siena, he will give you a brief tour in the van of the top sights including the main Piazza called Piazza del Campo (with the tower building) as well as our beautiful Duomo. This will help you get your bearings. Then you will have 1 hour of free time to explore the city shop or take photos. 

After leaving Siena you will head north again towards the direction of Florence. Massi will depart the highway onto the side roads so you can have see some of the classic views of the vineyards with the rolling hills Tuscany is so famous for. Time to take some family photos.

The last stop will be the little medieval town of Castellina. Here you will have time to walk into the town have a coffee or soft drink if you'd like. It is a quaint town with a mini Castle in the town center. Hence the name Castellina, little castle. If you did not have handcrafted gelato in San Gimignano there is another opportunity to try some here. 

From Castellina you will make the drive back to your hotel or B&B

The Grand Tour

Visit the must-see major cities outside of Florence. Massi delivers you to the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Walls of Lucca. This tour is all day, from 9am to 6pm.

From your hotel you will make the drive to Pisa. Time for the candid photos and a look around. 

From Pisa you will make your way to the town of Terricciola.  Lunch is a time to relax and savor the flavors of the Tuscan cuisine. As typical in Italy meals are meant to be enjoyed and never rushed. 

Following your Tuscan lunch you will make your way to the ancient town of Lucca, know for it’s surrounding wall for a stroll and main Piazza called Piazza Anfiteatro. Time to explore or have a gelato before heading back to Florence.
