Luciano Ciolfi is a fifth-generation winemaker and owner of Sanlorenzo winery. Each year he produces about 20,000 bottles of wine using skills passed down through generations of his family. These techniques allow his wines to reflect the terroir and personality of each vintage.

Luciano’s modest five-hectare estate is located in the ideal Sangiovese grape growing region southwest of Prata in Montalcino. Wines from this area maintain notable acidity and revolve around elegance and finesse rather than power and punch. Luciano uses stainless steel for fermentation, large botti, and wooden barriques for the aging of his wines.
Among Luciano’s wines is a classic style Rosso di Montalcino as well as a Brunello di Montalcino. During exceptional vintages, which only occur once every three to four years, he also crafts an award-winning Riserva.
