FATTORIA POMONA
Meet Monica Raspi, the newest winemaker, to join our group. A veterinarian by profession, who in 2007 decided to close her clinic and devote herself full time to making wine. Fattoria Pomona sits in the heart of the Chianti Classico region near Castellina. This property was originally an old brick factory when Monica's great-great-grandfather purchased it in 1890. Monica had a tangible connection to this land, and her parents started to make wine here in 1982. Six Hectares of vineyards with a variety of soils, including alberese, limestone, and clay. The property with olive trees and natural woodland with the highest potion at 350 meters. The land and wines have been certified organic since 2012.
The property is peaceful, rustic, and comfortable at the same time. We enjoy visiting Fattoria Pomona and are often welcomed by Zoe, the happy-go-lucky Dachshund. Be prepared for a puppy kiss or two.

Among Fattoria Pomona’s wines is a classic style Chianti Classico, as well as a Riserva and an IGT. They also produce a Cabernet, while not typical for this region, we are delighted they do. This Cabernet is a favorite with our visitors.
